Highland Woods Neighborhood Profile
Highland Woods is a small but private neighborhood with beautiful mountain views and backs up to an open meadow. It’s conveniently located in the middle of town and the neighborhood is in high demand. Single family homes, duplexes, and multi-family homes are found in this community and lots of the properties have nice big yards. This is one of the neighborhoods in Tahoe with underground utilities, so no power lines to block the mountain views. Another great advantage to this neighborhood is that it’s nice and level with no hills, so it’s perfect for walking, biking, and running.
Even though this neighborhood is centrally located, it still has a very private feel to it. Throughout the neighborhood there are many opening points to trails in the woods and meadow. Some of the trails lead to the river and all the way to the lake. In the winter the meadow is a great place to go snowshoeing or cross country skiing. Close to the neighborhood is Magic Carpet Golf (530.541.3787), a fun little miniature golf course. Lots of great restaurants are close by as well and you’re about 6 minutes from the Y area, 10 minutes from Stateline, and about 10 minutes from Heavenly Ski Resort. This neighborhood is definitely one of Tahoe’s best kept secrets.
