Bijou 1 & Bijou 2 Neighborhood Profile

This neighborhood is preferred by those who like to be in the heart of town.  There are lots of activities to do nearby as it is close to stateline, the casinos, ski run and many other amenities including the South Lake Tahoe Recreation complex including the the Bijou golf course, ice skating rink, the bowling alley and more.   It is also in very close proximity to Heavenly ski resort.

Just like most neighborhoods in town it is very mixed development. The neighborhood borders Highway 50 and also Ski Run Blvd and near these areas you have commercial development, condo developments and apartment buildings occasionally interspersed with single family homes.  Then you have streets that are just single family homes or the highly sought after homes that sit along the meadow and golf course with amazing mountain and meadow views.

Prices range from as low as $179,000 up to $1,450,000 for the homes that are on large parcels sitting along the golf course and meadow with great mountain views–though some homes that sit along the meadow in Bijou 2 are available for under $500,000.

Nearby popular restaurants include Cafe Fiore, Sato’s All you can eat sushi, Tep’s Villa Roma, Riva Bar & Grill & many others.

Stateline Neighborhood Profile

Stateline Neighborhood is unique in comparison to other South Lake Tahoe area neighborhoods, as it is right at the California and Nevada stateline.  So if you like to be in the heart of the activity, this might be the neighborhood for you.  If you enjoy the casinos (such as Harveys, Harrah’s, Mont Bleu, Horizon or Bill’s) or perhaps the fact that the Heavenly gondola is right around the corner from your home, you might appreciate this neighborhood.

This neighborhood is near the stateline redevelopment area and the conference center that is supposed to go in as well. So when driving around you might notice that there very mixed development in this area with a multi-unit building next to a million dollar new construction home which is then next to a cute log cabin starter home or small vacation getaway. we think this is a neighborhood to watch in the future because of the redevelopment going on at stateline, it makes you wonder what is going to happen to the surrounding neighborhood over time….

There are plenty of great restaurants, bars & eateries nearby including some of my favorites:

  • Cafe Fiore , an amazing Italian restaurant open for dinner with one of the best wine lists around (make sure you call well in advance for reservations for weekends).
  • Kalani’s , a great Sushi/Pacific fusion cusine restaurant with a good atmosphere in the Marriott shopping center near the Heavenly gondola, so there are plenty of activities to do afterwards.
  • 19 Kitchen Bar , while the food is decent, I prefer to go to the bar side of the resturant on the 19th floor of Harvey’s for one of their speciality martinis and a great view of Lake Tahoe at sunset.
